Curriculum Intent, Implementation and Impact for Every Child

Our curriculum is adapted, designed and developed to be ambitious and meet the needs of children with SEND and complies with 2010 Equality Act & SEND Regulations 2014.

It is a highly ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum with the aim of ensuring that all children feel inspired, nurtured and are presented with opportunities to succeed.

We are commited to delivering a curriculum that is carefully designed to ensure coverage and progression. We strive to provide all our pupils with memorable, diverse and rich opportunities and experiences which will enable them to learn and develop a range of transferable skills to take through to the next stage of their education journey.

  • Through our Universal Offer (inclusive offer/Ordinarily Available Provision), we strive for all children to achieve highly across the curriculum.

  • We aim for all children to understand how to keep themselves healthy, both physically, emotionally and mentally to support their long-term well-being. In doing so, we aim to develop children’s emotional vocabulary to support them in expressing their feelings.

  • All children are exposed to highly effective adult instruction in every lesson through employing a research-informed approach to teaching and learning. Knowledge and skills are revisited and built upon through a progressive curriculum to ensure all children learn and remember more.

  • Ensure all children develop language and oracy skills, enabling them to communicate effectively and participate in rich discussions.

  • From their Early Years, all children are supported to become fluent and effective readers to enable them to access the wider curriculum, develop a rich vocabulary and enjoy reading for pleasure as a door to a lifelong love of learning.

  • For all children to become fluent in and be able to manipulate number to support problem-solving and reasoning, through a mastery approach.

  • Develop all children’s understanding of themselves as learners and build their resilience and problem-solving skills to become creative thinkers.

  • Instil an understanding in all children of, and deep respect for, the beliefs, cultures, needs and differences of others.

  • Provide all children with memorable, diverse and rich opportunities and experiences which serve them well for the future.
