Longford Park has been awarded the Artsmark Silver Award!
We're delighted to have been awarded the Artsmark Silver Award.
Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England and in order to be awarded this status, we needed to evidence that that high quality arts and cultural education is a priority at Longford Park.
Following the review of our application, the Artsmark Assessor commended the school saying:
'Longford Park Primary School has used its first Artsmark journey to develop its creative and artistic provision through a supportive and collaborative approach to CPD and curriculum design. The curriculum is planned with colleagues across schools in the cluster and Art, DT and Music now provide a project-based outcome for every child, every term… You have set off on an exciting journey and we look forward greatly to hearing where it takes you next and how it improves your children’s learning and their lives.'
Dr Darren Henley OBE, Chief Executive of Arts Council England, said:
“I would like to congratulate Longford Park Primary School on their Artsmark Award. Creative activities and cultural experiences enrich our lives, open our minds to new possibilities and help us make sense of the world around us. As an awarded Artsmark school, you’re demonstrating that by offering a broad, ambitious and creative curriculum, your young people will develop character and resilience, increasing their knowledge, curiosity and skills that will remain with them through to adult life.”
We were able to achieve these outcomes by creating an overall plan for arts and creativity that was committed to and delivered across the whole school - this award allows us to demonstrate that this committment to excellence is having a fantastic impact for our children.
Great work Team Longford Park!
